Can you share the story behind RAVATAR’s founding? What inspired the concept of interactive AI avatars?

The inception of RAVATAR stemmed from a profound question: how do we create digital interactions that feel authentically human, exuding warmth, insight, and presence, yet uphold the precision of a machine? Although my background in cloud computing and interest in AI and immersive technologies set the foundation for this pursuit, it was the observation of real-world gaps in meaningful customer engagement that truly sparked the creation of RAVATAR. We envisioned a future where businesses could solve these issues with humanlike AI avatars that do more than just automate processes — they build meaningful connections. This inspiration fueled our journey to develop conversational and interactive real-time AI avatars capable of lifelike communication, bridging people and technology with seamless, empathetic interactions that resonate on a personal level. In other words, RAVATAR is not about replacing humans, but about filling the digital void with a sense of humanity that had long been missing.

How has RAVATAR’s connection with Cyprus influenced the company’s growth and development?

Cyprus provides a good environment for RAVATAR’s growth, with straightforward rules on the IP Box regime, which is especially advantageous for innovative companies focused on the creation of intellectual property. Also, the country’s supportive policies, increased number of skilled talent during recent years, and strategic location near major markets in Europe and the Middle East allow us to operate with agility and confidence. On top of this, the welcoming community, great weather, and excellent cuisine make Cyprus not only a practical base but also an enjoyable place to call home.

AI avatars are gaining popularity in various industries. What trends do you foresee in the AI and avatar space over the next few years?

The AI avatar landscape is rapidly evolving, with key trends emphasizing hyper-personalization, data privacy and security, and cross-platform integration. As digital consumers demand more personalized, tailored experiences, we anticipate growing interest in AI avatars that adapt instantly to individual preferences and emotional contexts, improving customer satisfaction across sectors. Personal privacy and ethical AI will also be non-negotiable.  At the same time, AI avatars are expected to integrate effortlessly across diverse physical and virtual platforms, supporting everything from e-commerce to virtual care. In short, the industry is progressing toward creating avatars that seamlessly blend intuitiveness and adaptability to become an indispensable part of daily digital interactions.

How does RAVATAR leverage holographic technology, and what future applications do you envision for it?

Intertwining holographic displays with RAVATAR solutions takes AI avatars from a flat-screen experience to a full three-dimensional presence. Using high-fidelity holographic displays, we’re reimagining what’s possible in customer service, remote collaboration, banking, and even healthcare. This technology is also widely employed in advertising and brand representation, enabling companies to connect with their audiences in a deeply immersive way. Another standout application of holographic AI avatars is holoportation, where we bring virtual representatives into physical spaces, breaking down geographical barriers for face-to-face communication infused with a tangible presence.

Looking ahead, the potential applications are immense, with holograms bringing real-time experts into operating rooms, transforming retail spaces, hosting live events, and making educational experiences truly interactive and personal. On a larger scale, we see holography solidifying its role as a transformative tool for richer, more meaningful digital engagement.

RAVATAR has created AI avatars for sectors like healthcare and banking. How do you adapt avatars for industry-specific needs?

Our approach to creating industry-specific avatars centres on understanding each sector’s distinct challenges and goals. In healthcare, for instance, AI avatars must communicate with empathy, recognize subtle emotional cues, and provide accurate information quickly, enhancing both patient experience and care outcomes. In banking, where security and trustworthiness are paramount, our avatars support processes such as identity verification and ensure that sensitive data is managed with precision and reliability. We embed each avatar with sector-specific expertise, personality, and user experience protocols to ensure they integrate naturally, addressing the unique needs and expectations of each domain.

Privacy and data sovereignty are critical today. How does RAVATAR ensure user data security with its on-premise deployments?

At RAVATAR, we recognize that data privacy, security, and sovereignty are essential for building trustful enterprise solutions. Our on-premise deployment packages ensure that clients can maintain full control over their data within their own infrastructure, eliminating risks associated with third-party information handling. We prioritize end-to-end encryption, rigorous security protocols, and compliance with international standards like GDPR. For industries processing sensitive data, such as healthcare and finance, this means they can leverage advanced AI without compromising on security. Ultimately, our dedication to robust protective measures guarantees our technology is not only innovative but dependable.

How do you see your multilingual avatars shaping global customer engagement?

Our multilingual avatars represent an invaluable tool for businesses looking to break down language barriers and create truly global customer engagement that still feels local and personalized. With support for multiple languages, RAVATAR AI avatars enable brands to connect directly with customers in their preferred language, building stronger connections and reducing friction in the user experience. This capability is especially appealing for markets with diverse language needs, helping brands to engage more inclusively and effectively while nurturing loyalty in regions where personalized service is a key competitive differentiator.

Could you describe RAVATAR’s low-code/no-code integration process and its benefits for business clients?

RAVATAR’s low-code/no-code approach changes the game for how businesses integrate interactive AI avatars into their systems by lowering the technical barriers to adoption. This means companies can get their avatars up and running quickly and customize them in-house, without needing extensive IT support. The result is faster time-to-market and reduced costs. Beyond that, it’s not just about saving time; for our clients, it’s also about gaining flexibility and control. With this accessible setup, organizations of all sizes—from large enterprises to SMBs—can leverage our conversational AI avatars to enhance customer interactions and adapt their use on the fly to shifting business needs.

What are some use cases RAVATAR has developed?

AI Doctor

Our AI Doctor is an innovative solution implemented as part of the visionary Virtual Hospital concept, designed to make remote healthcare more accessible. By providing real-time patient triage and gathering essential health information, it is set to reduce wait times, streamline processes, and ease the burden on healthcare providers. Recently showcased at the G7 Health Summit in Ancona, the AI Doctor impressed attendees with a live demonstration—seamlessly interacting with a simulated patient presenting symptoms, responding naturally, and assessing key health data in a live conversation. This project’s mission is to bring crucial healthcare services directly into patients’ homes through digital interactions, offering timely guidance, support, and easy access to care.

AI Keynote Speaker

Another exciting breakthrough is our AI Keynote Speaker. At the AVANT Special Forces Summit 2024, we introduced the world’s first AI Avatar Keynote Speaker—a lifelike 3D digital replica of AVANT CEO Ian Kieninger. Displayed within the RAVABOX holographic device, this interactive AI avatar delivered a keynote presentation that evolved into a live, dynamic dialogue with its real-world counterpart on stage, seamlessly blending human-like presence with AI precision. This demonstration showcased how the fusion of AI and holographic technology can transform public speaking, offering a fresh, innovative way to deliver messages, captivate audiences, and make live events truly unforgettable.

RAVATAR AI Science Ambassador

One of our latest compelling projects was bringing Marie Curie to life as a holographic AI Science Ambassador at the European Researchers’ Night. This project lets audiences engage with Curie’s avatar in real-time, ask her questions about her life and work, and gain insights directly from one of history’s most iconic scientists. The success of this project highlights how our avatars can transform educational experiences, making history and science more accessible and engaging for people of all ages.

AI Brand Ambassador

The AI Brand Ambassador also stands as a notable advancement that combines lifelike AI with holographic technology to create immersive, authentic connections that captivate audiences and elevate brand presence. Unveiled at the Reflect Festival in Cyprus, this solution debuted as a holographic avatar of Theodoros Loukaidis, Director General of the Research and Innovation Foundation. Engaging attendees in real-time, this conversational 3D avatar is designed to bring RIF’s mission and programs to life, transforming passive brand communication into a dynamic, two-way interaction. Whether guiding customers or embodying corporate values, the AI Brand Ambassador boosts digital outreach by helping brands forge personal connections and nurture trust, setting a new standard for engagement at scale.

These projects underscore RAVATAR’s commitment to enhancing digital engagement across various sectors by providing dynamic, human-like interactions that bridge the gap between technology and human experience.

How does RAVATAR plan to continue expanding its technology offerings to stay competitive in the global AI market?

Innovation at RAVATAR is an ongoing journey. We’re committed to continuously evolving our avatars to keep ahead in the fast-paced AI market. Our vision for the future includes pushing the boundaries of holography, AR, and real-time multilingual interactions to deliver even more immersive digital experiences. We’re also doubling down on ethical AI, incorporating robust privacy features and transparency protocols. By maintaining agility, listening to market demands, and consistently refining our offerings, we’re set to stay at the leading edge of AI and digital engagement.

How do you envision AI avatars evolving as personal companions or assistants in everyday life?

With the growing trend of humanizing AI, intelligent avatars are on track to becoming integral companions and assistants in our daily lives. These digital entities could serve as personal guides, adapting to your habits, preferences, and needs—whether it’s managing your schedule, providing emotional support, or just being there when you need them. With advances in emotional intelligence and contextual understanding, future AI companions could become trusted digital allies, ready to assist in countless ways. As this technology continues to develop, AI avatars are poised to move beyond simple, transactional tasks to truly enhance our quality of life.

What advice would you give to emerging startups aiming to explore the AI and digital avatar space?

For startups entering the AI and digital avatar space, my biggest piece of advice is to stay focused on delivering real-world value. The technology itself can be compelling, but its true success hinges on how it impacts end users. Be transparent, prioritize ethical practices, and make sure data protection is a top priority. Also, take the time to truly understand the specific needs and challenges of your market. The most successful innovations happen when technology meets a real demand, and staying committed to that purpose will always set your solution apart in this competitive landscape.
