On May 8, Nicosia joins a global conversation about the future of humanity. TEDxEleftheriaSquare will host an exclusive live event featuring a curated selection of talks from TED2025 — the global conference held annually each April in Vancouver, Canada.
It has become a tradition for global TED conferences to be named after the defining themes and ideas that unite people each year. TED2023 embraced the theme of “Possibility,” inviting attendees to explore the “adjacent possible” and encouraging the creation of new realities through innovation and collaboration. Celebrating TED’s 40th anniversary, TED2024 adopted the theme “The Brave and The Brilliant,” honoring individuals who embody creativity, ingenuity, courage, wisdom, and generosity, all aimed at inspiring positive change in society. TED2025 has adopted the theme “Humanity Reimagined,” inviting us to explore the evolving role of humanity in an era of rapid advancements in artificial intelligence, biotechnology, and creativity.

The Global Event Lights up Minds Across the Globe

This year’s theme, “Humanity Reimagined,” explored how humanity can thrive in an era of rapid advancements in AI, biotechnology, and shifting social structures. Experts from a wide range of industries showcased how AI could amplify human creativity while emphasizing the need to uphold human values amid technological progress. The global conference featured 11 sessions, each inspired by an iconic film released between 1958 and 2015. These included fully animated masterpieces like “Inside Out,” “The Incredibles,” and “Spirited Away,” light-hearted classics such as “The Parent Trap,” timeless dramas like “A Beautiful Mind” and “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,” and psychological epics including Francis Ford Coppola’s “Apocalypse Now” and Alfred Hitchcock’s “Vertigo.”
