Let’s dive into Hélène’s journey, transformative work, and vision for creating meaningful and lasting change…

1. Do you remember your first day on the job at Empowered New You?

Yes, I do. On my first day as a Systemic Therapist and Leadership Coach felt like I was stepping into my true purpose. I remember feeling both nervous and excited but also deeply connected to the idea that I was finally in a position to help others rewrite their stories. I’ll never forget the moment a client shared how transformative our first session was—it affirmed that I was exactly where I needed to be. I also remember hosting my first Wellness & Mindfulness retreat at Empowered New You—this moment will forever be ingrained in my memory. I felt that I had built a business I love, one aligned with my mission to serve people and empower them to thrive.

2. What is more difficult: being interviewed to join a team or doing the interviews yourself?

Doing the interviews yourself is more difficult because you’re not just assessing skills; you’re also trying to sense a person’s energy, understand their potential, and ensure they align with your vision. As someone who values authenticity and purpose, I find it rewarding to identify that spark in someone.

3. What do you most value in your employees?

I most value authenticity, empathy, and the courage to grow in my employees. These qualities create a ripple effect—not just in the workplace, but in how we show up in life. Growth happens when people feel safe to be their true selves and are willing to stretch beyond their comfort zones.

4. Which is a motto/quote you use in your work?

“Turn your pain into purpose.” This quote deeply resonates with me because it reflects my journey. Every struggle I’ve faced has become a lesson, one that I now use to help and empower others—whether those lessons come from building my business or from my personal life. It serves as a reminder that even the hardest moments in life hold incredible power for transformation and growth.

5. If you were back to the start, what would you advise yourself for a great career?

Trust your intuition and don’t let societal expectations dictate your path. The answers you need are already within you—listen to them. Don’t be afraid to pivot until you find work that truly excites and fulfills you.

6. How do you pump up your creativity?

I recharge my creativity through sound healing, art, and nature walks. Creativity is at the core of what I do—it allows me to guide others in ways that are both intuitive and meaningful. It also connects me to my authenticity, which is crucial in my work as a coach and therapist.

7. What is a talent you would like to have?

I would love to have the power of invisibility. While not a talent in the traditional sense, it could be a powerful skill. The ability to observe people, their behavior, and gain insight into their internal world without them knowing they are being watched would offer deep psychological understanding. It could enhance emotional awareness and empathy, and eventually serve as a progressive tool in my work as a therapist.

8. How do you balance work and personal life?

For me, balance is about setting intentional boundaries and prioritizing self-care. As both a mother and entrepreneur, I make sure to carve out sacred time for my family and myself—whether through exercise, meditation or simply being present. I’ve learned that I can only show up for others when I’m grounded and nourished, having first shown up for myself.

9. What are the top five foods you like in Cyprus?

  • Halloumi – especially the traditional kind made by Yiayia in the village,
  • Fresh seafood, like calamari and octopus,
  • Koupepia (stuffed vine leaves),
  • Fresh olive oil,
  • Shieftalies.

10. Can you name your top five favourite places in Cyprus?

  • Akamas, for its pristine beauty,
  • Troodos Mountains, are perfect for winter retreats and connecting with nature,
  • Ayia Napa’s sea caves offer breathtaking views,
  • Petra tou Romiou (Aphrodite’s Rock), is a place rich in mythology and magic,
  • My garden, my sanctuary.

11. Which personality, throughout history, do you admire most?

I deeply admire Maya Angelou for her resilience, wisdom, and ability to transform pain into art. She taught me the power of storytelling and self-expression—two elements that are central to my work and how I connect with others.

12. Who is your favourite author/book that helped your career?

Brené Brown’s “Daring Greatly” profoundly impacted me. Her insights on vulnerability and courage validated my belief that authenticity is the key to connection and growth. The book provided me with tools to work on myself and to guide others in embracing their true selves.

13. Where would you advise our readers to go this winter?
Globally, I’d recommend Iceland for its magical Northern Lights and tranquil landscapes—it’s an incredible place to recharge and reconnect.
In Cyprus, I’d suggest a cozy escape to the Troodos Mountains. A quiet retreat in a stone-built village with a fireplace is perfect for finding peace during the winter months.
