Programme Themes

Confirmed sessions cover major questions facing the games industry in 2026, from investment and user acquisition to people management, Steam strategy and the future of the sector.

The early programme includes a panel on investing in games in 2026, examining how market data, prototypes, player testing, traction and creative instinct leading investment decisions. It also features a roundtable on user acquisition, covering distribution channels, AI in mobile game marketing, smarter spend and financing growth.

Other confirmed topics include people management in 2026, with discussion of hiring, retention, performance, leadership, AI and HR technology, as well as winning on Steam, covering concept, audience fit, wishlists, demos, playtests, marketing tactics and launch strategy. A future-facing discussion will also look at whether the games industry’s current period of layoffs, restructuring, cautious investment and AI disruption marks a crisis, a reset or the start of a new growth cycle.

Opportunities For Developers

WN Conference Cyprus’26 includes two dedicated formats for game developers: the Developer Showcase and the Indie Pitch. Both are designed to help developers present projects, receive feedback, and connect with publishers, investors, and potential partners.

The Developer Showcase aims to bring together up to 50 teams in 2026. Selected teams will be able to present their games in the conference expo area, meet industry professionals, and build new business connections through networking and meetings. One team member from each selected project will also receive complimentary conference access.

The best Showcase game will receive $2,500 in AWS credits. The Indie Pitch will give selected game projects the chance to pitch live to a jury of industry experts and the conference audience, receive feedback from experienced judges, and increase visibility among publishers, investors and potential partners.

Applications for the Developer Showcase and Indie Pitch are open until 11 September 2026.

Cyprus Games Industry Awards And WN Wishlist

The conference will also feature the Cyprus Games Industry Awards, inviting the community to nominate companies and projects they believe deserve recognition, then vote for finalists and winners.

Another new feature is WN Wishlist, a community-driven initiative that allows attendees to suggest discussion topics and recommend companies and professionals they would like to meet.

WN Conference Cyprus’26 is aimed at game developers looking for publishers or investment, publishers and investors looking for new games, and platforms or service providers looking for partners and clients.
