Threads Adds New Podcast Tools As It Looks To Become A Discovery Hub For Creators And Listeners

by THEFUTURE.TEAM

Threads is adding new podcast features that will give creators more ways to showcase episodes, engage audiences and track performance on the platform.

New Tools For Podcast Creators

Podcast creators will be able to display a profile card and banner on their Threads profiles and posts. When they share episode links, those links will appear as tappable cards that make it easier for users to open and listen to episodes.

Creators can also publish transcripts directly on Threads, while podcast hosts can tag featured guests to generate related cards within posts. Users will be able to save podcast posts for later, giving them a simple way to bookmark episodes for future listening.

Behind the scenes, Threads will remind creators when new episodes are released and prompt them to share the content on the platform. New performance data will also show how posts are reaching followers and non-followers, including views over time and total views.

Threads Builds On Its Podcast Push

The update builds on Threads’ earlier efforts to support podcast discovery and discussion. Last year, the platform introduced features including enhanced link cards and tools for connecting profiles with podcast content.

Meta said in June that Threads had reached 500 million active users, putting the platform closer to X in user scale.

For podcast creators, the new features add distribution, discovery and analytics tools to a platform that is increasingly being used for conversations around published content.
