What challenges have you faced as a woman in tech?
We live in a demanding world, and by 2023, the number of women in leadership will increase, but it is still a tiny percentage. As for me, I have faced unconscious biases, which describe the associations we hold outside our conscious awareness and control. Especially when you are a young lady, people need more time to trust you to do business with, and stereotypes cause that. I have been thinking about this topic a lot.
What advice would you give to other women interested in a tech career?
I’m pushing myself to talk more, show up more, and be an example so everyone, especially women, believes in themselves. They can achieve it, too. I highly recommend believing in yourself!
What are your thoughts on the future of women in tech?
Businesses like the tech or iGaming industries have few female leaders. What could we do about this? Let’s encourage women to join the conversations and events and show that it’s normal and successful for women to be part of the tech industry, too.
What is your favorite part of working in tech?
The entertainment world, particularly the tech and iGaming industry, is fascinating. I love starting new projects, bringing people together, implementing different ideas, and pushing ideas to become reality. To produce new products and create these new connections between businesses. It is a business magic that brings you money and pleasure when you see how it works.
What are your career goals?
It is difficult to describe my goals as they have all come to life. That’s why I’m careful with my wishes. All I can say is that I enjoy the process of converting ideas into real projects based on the team’s hard work. I wish more ideas became reality. And I wish to have new ambitious projects!
What are your thoughts on diversity and inclusion in the tech industry?
What I already see in Cyprus – and I liked what I saw – is that there are many intelligent and strong women in the government. I love what they do and how they do it. They are a good example and inspiration for all women on the island and the tech industry.
What are you most passionate about?
Working in the tech industry and active sport (e.g., surfing). Also, I like people to be excited. My passion is to expand limits – in business, sports, and personal achievements.
