Meta is expanding its AI infrastructure using rapid deployment tent structures as part of its data center buildout strategy. The approach is intended to reduce construction timelines as demand for AI computing capacity continues to grow.
Leveraging Innovation And Speed
According to Michael Thomas, founder of Cleanview, Meta’s project in New Albany, Ohio, has progressed rapidly. Between April and June, the company installed five 125,000-square-foot tent structures that are already operational. The facilities are powered by nearby 200-megawatt modular gas turbines, allowing infrastructure to come online while permanent construction continues.

Strategic Investment Amid Market Pressures
The project comes as Meta continues to increase spending on AI infrastructure. Earlier this year, the company outlined plans to invest up to $145 billion in data centers and capital expenditures. At the same time, investors have been closely monitoring returns on large-scale AI investments across the technology sector.

Alongside its infrastructure expansion, Meta has faced delays in the rollout of its latest AI model, Muse Spark, to developers.
