Your role involves supporting the content team in generating content, covering everything from feature articles to newsletter copy and podcast scripts. This includes conducting interviews with experts in various sectors, researching industry trends, and consistently producing multiple pieces of content weekly. Additionally, you may have opportunities to undertake editing tasks as part of your role.
What will you be doing?
Your role involves supporting the content team in generating quality content, covering everything from feature articles to newsletter copy and podcast scripts. This includes conducting interviews with clients and experts in various sectors, researching industry trends, and consistently producing multiple pieces of content weekly.
Core duties include:
- Monitoring news feeds and tracking coverage across local and international media outlets to identify key developments, trends, and opportunities;
- Pitching and developing news story angles, working closely with editors and other reporters;
- Writing news briefs on time;
- Interviewing industry leaders and other sources;
- Helping to build and implement editorial strategy;
- Attend and report on industry events;
- Write a compelling newsletter;
- Write commercial copy, including multimedia projects such as video scripts and podcast storylines, events, and social media copy;
- Occasionally step in to cover editing duties, especially during busy periods.
Location
Preferably Cyprus (hybrid). As an alternative, Ukraine.
Requirements
What skills do you need?
- Fluent English (C1) is a must;
- Minimum of 2 years of journalism or other writing experience;
- A portfolio that includes related content (preferably links to published works);
- Demonstrable writing experience, preferably in a fast-paced digital news or business publishing environment;
- Proven copyediting and subediting skills;
- Skilled at producing headlines optimized for digital platforms;
- Excellent written and verbal communication;
- Exceptional relationship management skills;
- Proactive, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team;
- Confidence in fact-checking, interviewing, and researching;
- Good knowledge of the startup and tech industry;
- Prior editing experience;
- Highly organized — you’ll be juggling lots of different pieces of writing at the same time.
