Cyprus Extends €400,000 Funding Call For Cultural Organisations To Upgrade Technology

Overview

The Deputy Ministry of Culture has extended the application period for its 2026 Scheme for the Technological and Digital Upgrading of Cultural Organisations, offering grants of up to €30,000 per organisation.

Administered by the Department of Contemporary Culture, the scheme has a total budget of €400,000 and supports eligible cultural organisations seeking to modernise their facilities through specialised technological and digital equipment.

The funding covers 85% of eligible expenditure, up to €30,000 per organisation, excluding VAT.

The initiative supports organisations active in contemporary culture by helping them acquire equipment to support their cultural activities and improve their technological capabilities.

What The Funding Covers

The scheme provides financial assistance for the purchase of specialised technological and digital equipment by qualifying cultural organisations.

Applicants must demonstrate a need for the proposed equipment and explain how it relates to their activities and the premises they operate.

Grants cover up to 85% of eligible expenditure, subject to the €30,000 ceiling per organisation, excluding VAT. Applicants must therefore account for the portion of expenditure not covered by the grant.

The scheme is intended to support the technological modernisation of contemporary cultural organisations, not to provide unrestricted funding for general business operations.

Who Can Apply

The scheme is open to private legal entities based in the Republic of Cyprus, specifically:

  • associations
  • foundations
  • non-profit companies

Applicants must have contemporary culture as a principal objective under their statutes and demonstrate continuous activity in Cyprus’s cultural sector for at least two years.

They must also own or rent, in their organisation’s name, suitable premises such as contemporary cultural spaces, offices or equipment storage facilities.

The proposed purchase must be justified in relation to the type of premises used and the organisation’s activities.

Individual artists and ordinary commercial businesses are not included among the eligible applicant categories specified in the announcement.

How To Apply

Applications must be submitted electronically through the grants4arts application platform.

Applicants should consult the full scheme documentation, prepare evidence of their eligibility and explain the need for the equipment they intend to purchase.

For enquiries, applicants can contact the Department of Contemporary Culture at mthoma@culture.gov.cy or mleonidou@culture.gov.cy.

About The Scheme

The Scheme for the Technological and Digital Upgrading of Cultural Organisations is administered by the Department of Contemporary Culture of the Deputy Ministry of Culture.

It provides targeted financial assistance for the technological modernisation of organisations working in contemporary culture, supporting investment in equipment needed for their activities.
